This new version supports the IMAP protocol, supported by many of the worlds most popular email services. This means that those of you who are missing out due to not having an Exchange Web Services enabled server finally get to use Outlook Notify!
The IMAP version of Outlook Notify is now nearing completion with an initial release expected before the end of this week!
A bug in the SSL mode made connections impossible if the server in question expected a certain kind of SSL connection. This should now be fixed.
The Outlook Notify POP3 version is now available, see the products page.
As the manual wasn’t too clear with regards to configuration, a new manual has been produced to meet these requirements.
For all those who have found that Outlook Notify only supports Exchange Web Services enabled email system (i.e. Exchange 2007 and 2010), and is mostly aimed at corporate locations running on a LAN – I have decided to start work on a POP3 version which should hopefully be released by the end of this week.
